Chloe Fineman, a long-time member of the “Saturday Night Live” cast, has decided to leave the show after seven seasons. The announcement was made by the comedian on Instagram, just before the upcoming 52nd season this fall.
This departure comes after a significant shakeup during the 50th season in 2025, which saw the exits of several comedians, including Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, Ego Nwodim, and Emil Wakim. They were replaced for the 51st season by Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall from “Please Don’t Destroy,” and Canadian performer Veronika Slowikowska.
While the 51st season did not witness any major cast departures until the finale earlier this year, fellow cast member Bowen Yang left midway through the season in December 2025. In her Instagram post, Fineman expressed her emotional attachment to the show, calling it her family and home, and mentioned that it’s difficult to bid farewell but the timing feels right.
Fineman joined “SNL” in 2019, alongside Bowen Yang and short-lived cast member Shane Gillis. The show has seen a shift towards having more long-serving members, with the current cast including several who have been on the show for six or more seasons. Notably, Kenan Thompson holds the record with 23 seasons, followed by Colin Jost with 13 seasons, Michael Che with 12, Mikey Day with 10, and Andrew Dismukes with six.
Gardner previously held the title of the longest-running female cast member before her departure. With Nwodim’s exit, Fineman became the longest-serving woman on the show. Lorne Michaels, the creator of “SNL,” had hinted at changes following the show’s 50th anniversary.
Among the departing cast members, Walker, Wakim, and Longfellow hinted that their exits may not have been voluntary. Walker likened entertainment work to marriages, describing them as sometimes fleeting, while Longfellow expressed disappointment at not returning for another season. Wakim shared his emotional reaction to learning he would not be returning, recounting a reflective moment at Six Flags.
During her time on “SNL,” Fineman gained recognition for her spot-on impressions of various personalities, including Melania Trump, Timothée Chalamet, Britney Spears, and Drew Barrymore. She also garnered attention for her social media videos impersonating Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun. Apart from her comedic talents, Fineman has also made a mark as an actor, appearing in several films alongside notable stars like Adam Driver, Chloë Grace Moretz, Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, and others.
Fineman is set to star in upcoming projects like “Love Language” with Chloë Grace Moretz and “The Dink” alongside Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris.
