Felix Auger-Aliassime to face Jiri Lehecka in European Open final

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime advances to the European Open final after defeating Belgium’s Raphael Collignon 7-6 (2), 6-4 in the semifinals. Auger-Aliassime showcased an impressive performance with eight aces, one double fault, and a 78% first-serve points won rate. He capitalized on one out of three break-point opportunities during the match. In contrast, Collignon managed five aces but struggled with four double faults and missed any break-point chances.

Auger-Aliassime, seeded second, is set to face off against Jiri Lehecka of Czechia, the third seed, in the final on Sunday. Meanwhile, in another tennis event, Canada’s Denis Shapovalov faced defeat in the semifinals of the Stockholm Open against Norway’s Casper Ruud with a 6-3, 6-4 scoreline. Shapovalov, the third seed, recorded six aces and four double faults, converting one break-point out of five. Ruud, the second seed, managed two aces and three successful break-point conversions out of six opportunities.

Ruud is scheduled to meet France’s Ugo Humbert in the final following Humbert’s advancement due to a walkover against top-seeded Holger Rune, who sustained an injury in the second set.
