Blue Jays standout player Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been named a finalist for the Silver Slugger award for the second consecutive year. Major League Baseball disclosed its nominees for the annual awards recognizing the top offensive performers at each position in both leagues on Friday. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer also made the cut as finalists.
The recipients of the awards, determined through votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding their own players, will be revealed on November 7. Guerrero, who secured the AL first-base award in 2021, achieved a .292 batting average with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs, striking out only 94 times in 589 at-bats.
Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette ranked second in the majors with 181 hits. He maintained a .311 average and recorded 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Springer, eyeing his third Silver Slugger accolade and the first since 2019, enjoyed a remarkable 2025 season, boasting a career-best .309 batting average, along with 32 home runs and 84 RBIs.
