Canadian tennis player Félix Auger-Aliassime has decided to withdraw from the Moselle Open this week due to a knee injury. The 25-year-old athlete from Montreal has made this choice to prioritize his well-being, although it puts his opportunity to compete in the prestigious ATP Finals at stake.
Recently, Auger-Aliassime reached the final of the Paris Masters, enduring a challenging journey that culminated in a defeat to the current world No. 1, Jannik Sinner, in a closely contested match. Despite falling short in the final, his remarkable performance propelled him to the 8th position in the ATP rankings, surpassing Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the race for a spot in the ATP Finals, set to commence in Turin, Italy this Sunday.
While Musetti competes in the Hellenic Championship in Athens, needing a tournament victory to reclaim the ATP Finals spot from Auger-Aliassime, the Canadian player boasts an impressive record this year with three titles and a win-loss ratio of 48-22. This recent success has brought him back into the top eight for the first time since April 10, 2023.
