Jessica De Filippo’s goal at the 10-minute mark secured a vital 1-0 victory for the Vancouver Rise against the Montreal Roses in Northern Super League action on Saturday. Vancouver claimed their second consecutive road win over a playoff-bound team this week, having previously defeated the Ottawa Rapid 2-0 on Wednesday.

With a record of 11-7-6, the Rise are currently three points ahead of both Ottawa and Montreal (both 10-8-6) as they head into the final week of the Canadian professional women’s soccer league’s inaugural season. The teams will face off in two-leg semifinals based on their standings after the upcoming matches, leading up to the final on November 15 at Toronto’s BMO Field, where the Diana B. Matheson Cup will be at stake.

Rise goalkeeper Morgan McAslan made three crucial saves to earn her second consecutive clean sheet, ensuring the team’s victory.
