Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) is making adjustments to accommodate Toronto sports fans who want to support the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series while also following their NHL and NBA teams.
The Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs have rescheduled their games to allow fans to watch the Blue Jays face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Major League Baseball championship series. MLSE President and CEO, Keith Pelley, emphasized the significance of uniting the city’s teams to give fans a chance to be part of this historic moment.
Game 1 and Game 2 of the World Series will take place at Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The Raptors have moved up the start time of their home opener against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. Similarly, the Maple Leafs have adjusted the start time of their game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
In addition, the Maple Leafs have rescheduled their Tuesday game against the Calgary Flames to 6 p.m., and the Raptors will host the Houston Rockets at 6:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
MLSE expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in coordinating these schedule changes, including the leagues, coaches, players, and broadcasters. Following their own games, the Maple Leafs and Raptors will broadcast the World Series games on the Scotiabank Arena videoboard for fans to enjoy.
Meanwhile, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ regular-season finale against the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday night will commence at 7 p.m. The team will provide in-stadium updates and live coverage of the World Series opener on TVs around Hamilton Stadium, with the full game broadcast on the main videoboard after the Tiger-Cats’ match concludes.
