Five members of the Toronto Blue Jays have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Gold Glove awards, which recognize the top defensive players in each position in Major League Baseball’s American League and National League. Ernie Clement has the chance to clinch two awards after earning a spot among the top three finalists in the American League for both third base and utility positions. Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who joined the team from Minnesota during the trade deadline, are in the running for the AL Gold Glove at first base. Additionally, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also been named as finalists. Gimenez has previously secured the AL Gold Glove for second base for the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians.
