Tornado researchers have verified the occurrence of a tornado near Kemptville, Ontario, on the previous Sunday. The tornado materialized during a passing storm, causing damage to vegetation and fields, as reported by the Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) at Western University.

A detailed survey revealed tree destruction patterns indicating a peak wind speed of 115 km/h along a brief, narrow trajectory. Researchers approximated the tornado’s onset at 3:45 p.m., with a subsequent journey of 1.18 kilometers towards the northeast.

The research team assigned an EF0 rating on the Enhanced Fujita Scale to this incident, which denotes the lowest intensity level for tornado and downburst classification, ranging from EF0 to EF5. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in connection with this event, according to NTP statements.

Over the same weekend, Environment Canada had issued a yellow-level rainfall advisory for eastern Ontario and western Quebec, alerting residents to the potential of receiving 50 to 100 millimeters of rain.
