A safety recall has been initiated for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens that were sold in the United States and Canada, citing a potential electrical shock hazard. The recall specifically pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens bearing the model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label situated on the back of the toaster oven. The issue revolves around the power cord of the toaster oven.
According to Panasonic’s voluntary recall notice, the problem lies in the insulation of the power cord, where a protective fiberglass sleeve may not fully cover the cord, posing a risk of electric shock or fire. In response, Panasonic, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have jointly advised consumers to discontinue using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a refund.

As of June 15, Health Canada has reported no injuries associated with the power cord issue in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has acknowledged five incidents of circuit breakers tripping in relation to the toaster ovens but confirmed no injuries have been reported.
