The Ottawa Redblacks have dismissed head coach Bob Dyce following a disappointing season that concluded with a sixth consecutive defeat. This decision was made in the aftermath of Ottawa’s 35-15 loss to Hamilton, which resulted in the team missing the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their appearance in the 2018 Grey Cup.
Bob Dyce had been a part of the Redblacks organization since 2016, initially as the special-teams coordinator before assuming the head coaching role in 2022. While he guided Ottawa to a 9-8-1 record and a playoff spot last season after a five-year hiatus, the team struggled this year, finishing with a 4-14 record under his leadership. Dyce’s overall head coaching record stands at 18-39-1.
General manager Shawn Burke acknowledged the difficulty of the decision, commending Dyce for his dedication and strong work ethic during his tenure with the team.
