Olivia Rodrigo Draws Inspiration from Lilith Fair for New All-Women Festival
Olivia Rodrigo is set to launch Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women music festival in Irvine, Calif., following in the footsteps of the iconic Lilith Fair created by Sarah McLachlan nearly 30 years ago. The festival, scheduled for Aug. 29, will showcase a lineup of female artists, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, the Breeders, Die Spitz, Bikini Kill, Eli, Garbage, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, and Not for Radio. Special guests like McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, and Karen O are expected to make appearances.
Rodrigo expressed her excitement about the event on Instagram, stating that she has dreamt of organizing this festival for years. In an interview with Pitchfork, she emphasized the festival’s mission to address social issues and promote equality, inspired by the original Lilith Fair’s values.
The festival’s announcement post on social media highlights its commitment to fostering positive change through joy, community, and creativity. All net proceeds will be donated to organizations supporting women and girls, such as Planned Parenthood, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, and the National Institute for Reproductive Health.
Rodrigo’s dedication to social causes is evident through her non-profit initiative, Fund 4 Good, established in 2023 to support charities advocating for reproductive rights, girls’ education, and gender-based violence prevention. The proceeds from her Unraveled Tour will also contribute to this cause.
General admission tickets for Daisy Chain Fields start at $250, with presale access available for fans. Rodrigo’s latest album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” recently claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, marking her third consecutive chart-topping album after the success of “Sour” and “Guts.”
