Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has accepted a six-game suspension imposed by the NFL following a reported failed performance-enhancing drug test last year. Beckham disclosed this information during an appearance on the Pivot podcast on Tuesday. The NFL confirmed that he will be ineligible to play until Week 12, according to a statement provided to The Associated Press.

In his podcast interview, the 32-year-old expressed that he was unaware of taking any performance-enhancing substances. Last season, Beckham participated in nine games with the Miami Dolphins, recording career-low statistics of nine receptions for 55 yards.

Although facing this setback, the seasoned NFL player, who was a first-round draft pick in 2014, remains hopeful of continuing his career in the current season. Notably, Beckham achieved four 1,000-yard seasons in his first five years in the league while playing for the New York Giants.

After being traded to the Cleveland Browns before the 2019 season and subsequently moving to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season, Beckham secured a Super Bowl victory with the Rams in 2021, although he sustained an ACL injury during the game.

Throughout his career, Beckham has amassed 575 receptions for 7,987 yards, a statistic that places him 119th on the all-time NFL receiving yards list.
