In response to past controversies, Mamdani clarified his stance on Hamas laying down arms, distancing himself from contentious phrases like “Globalize the intifada.” The debate also saw exchanges regarding Cuomo’s representation of the Muslim community and Mamdani’s commitment to combating antisemitism.
The debate highlighted Mamdani’s willingness to confront Trump, with Mamdani indicating a stance of resistance towards the president while expressing openness to collaborative efforts on cost reduction and affordability.
