Canucks’ Myers Fined $2,500 for McDavid Slash

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers has been fined $2,500 by the NHL Department of Safety for a slashing incident involving Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. The incident took place during the third period of the Canucks’ 3-1 defeat against the Oilers on Saturday night.

At the 8:25 mark of the third period, Myers made contact with McDavid using his stick in the groin area as McDavid was heading towards the net without the puck. Although no penalty was initially called for the slash, Myers was later penalized for delay of game at 9:07 of the same period.
