Para track and field: Canadian Success at World Championships
Canadian athletes secured four additional medals, including two golds, in the last two days of the World Para Athletics Championships held in India. Anthony Bouchard clinched gold in the men’s 100m T52 event, while Nate Tucker claimed his third world title in the men’s 1,500m T38. Marissa Papaconstantinou and Austin Smeenk also added to Canada’s medal tally. In total, Canada amassed nine medals, with three golds, placing 22nd overall. Greg Stewart, a two-time Paralympic shot put champion, also won his first world title.
Weightlifting: Charron Shines at World Championships
Maude Charron, a Canadian weightlifting standout, earned silver in the women’s 63kg division at the world championships in Norway, marking her fourth major medal across different weight classes. Charron lifted 103kg in the snatch and a personal best of 133kg in the clean and jerk, totaling 236kg. North Korea’s Ri Suk claimed the gold with a total of 253kg.
Curling: Homan and Dunstone Triumph
Rachel Homan and Matt Dunstone emerged victorious in the women’s and men’s categories, respectively, at the PointsBet Invitational in Calgary. Homan, the reigning women’s world champion, secured her third consecutive PointsBet title by defeating Corryn Brown. Dunstone’s recent successes position him as a strong contender in the men’s trials.

- Sophiane Méthot, a trampolinist, achieved podium finishes at a World Cup event in France, winning bronze in the solo event and synchronized gold with Sarah Milette.
