Canada’s Brad Jacobs secured a 14-6 victory over South Korea at the Pan Continental Curling Championships in Virginia, Minn., maintaining a perfect 3-0 record. Despite being tied at 5-5 after five ends, Jacobs and his Calgary-based team surged ahead with four points in the sixth end and added five more in the eighth. South Korea’s Soo-Hyuk Kim initially put up a strong performance but struggled after the midway break.
Jacobs, along with vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, and lead Ben Hebert, showcased an impressive 93% shooting accuracy, with Kennedy leading the team at 95%. The next match for Canada is against New Zealand’s Sean Becker, scheduled for later on the same day at the Iron Range Motors Event Center.
In the women’s category, Ottawa’s Rachel Homan, with a 2-1 record, defeated Mexico’s Adriana Camarena (0-3) with a score of 9-3, setting the pace with three points in the opening end. Homan is set to compete twice on Thursday, facing South Korea’s Eunji Gim (1-2) and China’s Rui Wang (3-0).
The Pan Continental Curling Championships serve as a regional qualifier for the upcoming 2026 men’s and women’s world championships.
