The Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys have made significant trades involving star defensive players Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. The New York Jets orchestrated these moves aiming to revamp their team, which has struggled with a prolonged playoff absence in the NFL.

Sauce Gardner, a standout cornerback, was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for two first-round draft picks and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. The Jets will gain the Colts’ first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 as part of the deal.

Quinnen Williams is set to join the Dallas Cowboys after the Jets agreed to a trade involving a second-round pick in 2026, a first-round pick in 2027, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith. The Jets will receive the superior of Dallas’ two first-round picks in 2027.

In related news on the busy trade deadline day, the Cowboys acquired linebacker Logan Wilson from the Cincinnati Bengals, while wide receiver Jakobi Meyers moved to Jacksonville from Las Vegas in exchange for draft picks. The Seattle Seahawks also acquired wideout Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints for future draft picks.

Gardner, a two-time All-Pro selection, recently signed a lucrative contract extension with the Jets and now joins the AFC South-leading Colts. On the other hand, Williams, a Pro Bowl pick, will bolster the Cowboys’ defense with his prowess.

These trades mark significant roster changes in the NFL landscape as teams gear up for the remainder of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles, reigning Super Bowl champions, have also been active in acquiring players to enhance their squad for a potential repeat championship run.
