“Cavalry FC Secures Spot in Third CPL Final”

The Cavalry FC, based in Calgary, has secured a spot in their third consecutive Canadian Premier League final. The defending champions defeated the regular-season champions Forge FC with a 1-0 victory in the CPL Contender semifinal at Hamilton Stadium on Sunday. Tobias Warschewski netted a goal in the 57th minute for the Cavalry, setting them up to face Atletico Ottawa in the upcoming North Star Cup final next Sunday. The North Star Cup has replaced the North Star Shield, which was previously presented to the CPL champions from 2019 to 2022.
