In July, there was a slight increase in home sales compared to the previous month, although there was a 5.3% decrease from the same period last year, as reported by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
A total of 43,578 homes were sold last month, with a 0.5% rise in activity when seasonally adjusted compared to June 2026.
CREA’s senior economist, Shaun Cathcart, mentioned that beneath the national figures, real estate markets in various regions of the country are moving closer to a balanced state.
The average selling price of a home in July was $674,819, marking a 0.2% increase from the previous year.
New listings in July decreased by 1.6% compared to the previous month, according to CREA.
