Justin Bieber achieved a new milestone at the American Music Awards on Monday night by securing his fifth win as best male pop artist, setting a new record. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously won this award four times, starting in 2010 when it was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.
At this year’s ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber was nominated for four awards, including artist of the year and album of the year for his album “Swag” from last year. With this latest win, Bieber now has a total of 19 American Music Awards, putting him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist. The all-time leader among male artists is still the late Michael Jackson, who holds 24 awards.
Justin Bieber recently made a triumphant return to the stage at Coachella last month, his first major performance since halting a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Other notable winners at the awards ceremony included BTS, who won artist of the year, and Sabrina Carpenter, who took home album of the year.
