“Dollarama Recalls Garlic Powder Over Bacteria Concerns”

Share

Canadians are advised against consuming garlic powder sold at Dollarama as it is being recalled.

The recall specifically pertains to the Heavenly Spices brand garlic powder available in a 70-gram package that was distributed nationwide.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) made the recall announcement after being informed by the dollar store chain.

The CFIA emphasized not using, selling, serving, or distributing the affected product, as stated in the official release.

The reason behind the recall, according to CFIA, is the presence of Bacillus cereus contamination in the seasoning. Bacillus cereus is a bacteria known for causing food poisoning, leading to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
