Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have reached an agreement to settle their legal dispute regarding the tumultuous production of their 2024 movie “It Ends With Us.” The Hollywood actors resolved their civil lawsuit just two weeks before the scheduled trial in New York. Lively had accused Baldoni of collaborating with publicists to tarnish her reputation after privately alleging that he sexually harassed her on set.

In a joint statement released through their attorneys, Lively and Baldoni expressed their commitment to raising awareness and supporting domestic violence survivors. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, allowing both parties to move forward positively and create a respectful online environment.

The legal battle began when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, at the end of 2024. Baldoni, in turn, countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist for defamation and extortion. Baldoni denied the harassment allegations, claiming they were fabricated by Lively to gain control over the film.

The settlement averted a potentially damaging trial that could have shed light on the less glamorous aspects of the entertainment industry. The judge had previously dismissed some claims from both actors. Despite the legal dispute, Lively and Baldoni acknowledged the importance of addressing workplace improprieties and fostering productive environments.

“It Ends With Us,” based on a bestselling novel about domestic violence, received critical acclaim upon its release in August 2024. However, the controversy surrounding Lively and Baldoni overshadowed the film’s success. Lively alleged that Baldoni made inappropriate comments, violated boundaries during filming, and pressured her for nudity against her wishes.

The lawsuit highlighted the complexities of creative collaborations in the film industry, with the judge noting the need for artists to experiment within the confines of a script. Lively’s legal team claimed that Baldoni and the studio retaliated by orchestrating a smear campaign to discredit her following her harassment complaints.

Both Lively and Baldoni emphasized their pride in the film’s completion and reiterated their commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence. The settlement marks a resolution to a contentious chapter in their professional lives, paving the way for a more positive and constructive future.

Blake Lively, known for her roles in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and “Gossip Girl,” and Justin Baldoni, recognized for “Jane the Virgin” and “Five Feet Apart,” can now put the legal battle behind them and focus on their respective careers.
