“Canadian Speed Skater Will Dandjinou Shines with Five Medals in Montreal”

Will Dandjinou had an impressive performance at the Short Track World Tour in Montreal, securing three speed skating medals on Sunday and accumulating a total of five over the two-day event, setting the pace for the Canadian team. In the 2,000-meter race, Dandjinou, alongside teammates Danaé Blais, Courtney Sarault, and Félix Roussel, clinched the gold with a time of 2 minutes 37.599 seconds, surpassing South Korea and Poland at Maurice Richard Arena.

Later, in the men’s 1,000 race, Dandjinou led a Canadian 1-2 finish with Steven Dubois, finishing in 1:25.417, narrowly edging out his teammate. The day concluded with Dandjinou contributing to Canada’s victory in the men’s 5,000 relay alongside Maxime Laoun, Dubois, and Roussel, clocking in at 6 minutes 57.743 seconds, outperforming the Netherlands and Italy.

Overall, Canada wrapped up the weekend with a total of 10 medals and concluded their two-week homestand with 17 medals, including 10 golds. They currently lead the Team Crystal Globe standings, with a significant point lead over the Korean White Tigers. Dandjinou and Sarault are comfortably leading in their respective Crystal Globe standings as well.

Looking ahead, Gdansk, Poland, will host the next stop on November 20-23, followed by Dordrecht, Netherlands a week later.
