“Toyota Recalls 32,733 Canadian Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Safety Risk”

Share

Toyota is issuing a recall of 32,733 vehicles in Canada due to a rearview camera issue that poses a safety risk, as reported by Transport Canada recently. The malfunction in the rearview camera may result in improper or no display of the image, contravening Canadian regulations that mandate the display when a vehicle is in reverse, according to the official notice.

The flawed rearview camera image could hinder a driver’s visibility while reversing, potentially leading to an increased likelihood of accidents, the notice highlighted. Affected by the recall are all Sequoia models manufactured between 2023 and 2025, as well as all Tundra models, including hybrids, produced between 2022 and 2025. The recall specifically pertains to vehicles equipped with a 14-inch multimedia display.

Toyota will communicate directly with owners of the impacted vehicles through written notifications. Alternatively, concerned drivers can verify if their vehicle is subject to the recall by checking Toyota’s recall database online. Owners of the affected models are advised to visit a Toyota dealership to have the multimedia display software updated promptly.
