The city of Helsinki in Europe is openly supporting Pamela Anderson to reconnect with her Finnish ancestry, even offering assistance in changing her surname. Anderson, known for her roles in “Baywatch” and “The Last Showgirl,” recently expressed her desire to reclaim her grandfather’s original Finnish name, Hyytiäinen. Helsinki Partners, a marketing company owned by the city, has initiated a campaign to help Anderson become a Hyytiäinen, featuring billboard ads near her residence on Vancouver Island. The ad includes Finnish actor Janne Hyytiäinen, who presents three options for Anderson to adopt the Hyytiäinen surname: through marriage, adoption, or a legal name change. The campaign aims to invite Anderson to explore her Finnish roots and potentially consider a name change, emphasizing Helsinki’s welcoming atmosphere. While Anderson has not responded to the campaign yet, Helsinki remains hopeful that she will visit Finland to experience the city and its culture firsthand.
