The popular series “Heated Rivalry” has not only captured the attention of fans across various platforms but has now sparked interest in the fashion world and even the Olympics.
Fans went into a frenzy after noticing a specific outfit worn by character Shane Hollander, portrayed by Canadian actor Hudson Williams, in the show. The garment in question was a Team Canada zip-up fleece, albeit with an original design created by the show rather than using official Team Canada apparel.
The unique sportswear quickly gained traction on social media, with fans expressing their eagerness to purchase it. The enthusiasm surrounding the fleece caught the attention of “Heated Rivalry” costume designer Hanna Puley, who shared her thoughts on the piece. She emphasized the importance of comfort and approachability, along with showcasing Canadian identity characterized by quiet confidence and coziness.
The buzz reached the official Team Canada account, prompting playful responses to the fan excitement. After teasing the potential lineup for Canada’s 2026 men’s hockey team on Instagram, flooded with comments about the “Heated Rivalry” fleece, Team Canada humorously encouraged fans to be excited for both the show and the team.
Subsequently, Team Canada hinted at the possibility of an actual “Heated Rivalry” fleece in response to the overwhelming interest from fans. A Change.org petition was initiated by a fan, urging Team Canada to consider the design as a way to attract a broader audience to hockey and the Olympics in an inclusive manner.
While some fans attempted to recreate the fleece themselves, it is noted that only sponsors, licensees, and official partners of the Olympics are permitted to suggest any association with the Olympic Movement or Games, as outlined by Team Canada’s guidelines. Additionally, the National Flag of Canada and its iconic 11-point maple leaf symbol are safeguarded by the Trademarks Act, preventing commercial use without explicit authorization from the Canadian government.
Team Canada has not yet provided a formal response to CBC regarding the potential creation of the “Heated Rivalry” fleece, leaving fans eagerly anticipating any updates on the matter.
